About Bright Side Painting

Ashley Hiebert, Owner/Operator

Owner and operator, Ashley Hiebert, is no stranger to hard work and entrepreneurship. Six years ago, having worked in retail for many years, Ashley was tired of working for someone else.

She decided to quit her job and start her first business, Tails to Scales Pet Services, which is currently in its 6th year of operation.

While she loved this work and her clients, in 2011 Ashley was looking for some variety so decided to take a friend up on an offer to work part-time as a painter for her company, Blondie's Painting.

Working directly with the owner on a daily basis for several years, Ashley was able to quickly learn all the skills and techniques required to do a great job of painting both insides and outsides of homes and businesses.

She enjoys painting, in that it allows her freedom, and consists of hard work where she can see the results right away.

When the owner of Blondie's Painting decided to sell her painting supplies, close her business down and return to school, it was a no-brainer! Because of her drive to be self employed and her commitment to quality work, Ashley decided start her own residential and commercial painting business.

Combining her passions for helping people, the environment and the community, Ashley opened Bright Side Painting in April 2013.

While operating these businesses, Ashley also, (surprisingly!) found time for a personal life. In 2009, she participated in her first ever marathon with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team in Training (TNT).

While training and raising funds for the LLS, she found a new passion in life. It sparked something big.

Ashley is currently an Assistant Triathlon Coach for the BC/Yukon chapter. Ashley has done marathons, triathlons and century rides with TNT. Currently she is involved in her 11th season with Team in Training and she loves it!

In 2010 she won the "Angela James Spirit Award" which is awarded once a year to a volunteer who consistently demonstrates the true spirit of Team in Training. She regards this as a higher achievement then the races she has done; she really, really loves that award!
